What a wonderful day!

Today was my Auntie and Uncle’s last day in town. This morning we visited a historic area and walked around, looking at and reading about the interesting buildings. We then enjoyed a coffee in a quaint cafe tucked away in a quiet area.

For lunch we ate some delicious food at a winery in a beautiful location. What made today even better was the amazing, mild and sunny weather.

After dropping them off at the airport I came home to a fantastic sunset. What a wonderful day!

Meditation

At a team meeting yesterday, we closed our eyes and followed a recorded meditation guide. After only six minutes I felt relaxed and ready to take on the world again.

Meditation is a great way to reduce stress and clear our minds so we can focus on what truly is important.

Daily meditation is a habit I’m developing so to have a guided session at work was a bonus that I’m grateful for πŸ™‚

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin was the feel-good hit of the 1980s.

From the lyrics:

In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy

It’s fine being concerned andΒ  trying to change things for the better, but worrying about things one cannot control stresses and can cause anxiety. Be happy.

Just do it

Just do it is a famous contemporary mantra and a trademark of footwear company Nike. To me, just do it is all about doing what needs to be done, no matter how tough it might be.

A few minutes ago I was considering procrastinating instead of ironing my clothes when I thought, just do it!

Immediately after blogging this, I will go and just do it! πŸ™‚

Two words we should use everyday

Previously, a speaker at my Toastmasters club asked the audience for two words that we should use everyday. Various answers were provided, however, the two words the speaker had in mind were:

Thank you

I agree with the speaker that we should use the words thank you everyday. Saying thank you to other people shows that you appreciate them and the things they do for you.

As well as thanking others, being thankful for one’s circumstances makes a significant difference to the positivity, contentment and peace in one’s life.
